Experience a tour of Australia’s largest gold-producing mine, the Super Pit! The Super Pit is one of Australia’s largest open pit gold mines. Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines (KCGM) Operation is a world class asset located adjacent to the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder approximately 600 kilometres east of Perth, Western Australia.
KCGM Operations include the Fimiston Open Pit (Super Pit), Mt Charlotte Underground Mine and the Fimiston and Gidji Processing Plants.
The Golden Mile at the centre of the Kalgoorlie Goldfield, is one of the richest gold deposits in the world, producing more than 60 million ounces of gold.
You will be a visitor inducted to the KCGM Super Pit and view the mining operations from our new private lookout. Be amazed by the size of the 793 dump trucks as we travel along the haul roads on site with the trucks. (The mill's visit is not included in the 1.5Hrs tour). The view of the Super Pit from Harvey Hut will take your breath away as you see the old miner's workings with old shafts and view the modern mining machinery working in the pit. Our tour guide will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have while on the tour, you can also feel free to bring along your camera for some fantastic photos!
