Eric is an accomplished leader (previous MD, CEO and NED roles in mining) in both the resources and investment banking sectors. He has managed DDs, valuations, scoping, prefeasibility and bankable feasibility studies covering numerous commodities in a number of jurisdictions. He has also managed the construction and commercialisation of mining and processing projects around the world, and has developed expertise in ESG matters, carbon-zero and carbon-neutral mining solutions and carbon accounting. He has engaged with government officials and other regulators worldwide as well as with local communities, most recently in Gabon, Spain, Solomon Islands and Mongolia. In investment banking, his experiences include corporate finance as well as specialised and project finance mandates for the resources industry. After many years in mining production, Eric entered broking as a mining investment analyst on the JSE. He has become a world-leader in minerals economics, while building and maintaining expertise in other areas including in the energy sector. His current role as the Head of the Minerals & Energy Economics Discipline, Masters programme of Curtin University highlights this expertise. To complement his mining background, he has developed significant capability in nuclear energy, thermal energy and geothermal power generation. He represents Curtin on the WA Chamber of Minerals & Energy Committee and is a Committee Member of the Australia Standards Rare Earths body. He has published numerous articles and books over 6 years in academia, focusing on minerals and energy economics., risk and uncertainty.
