Dr. Hajah Sarimah binti Haji Awang is the Head Division of Investment and Law, Ministry of Development in Brunei Darussalam, bringing over more than 20 years of extensive experience in governance and investment. With a deep commitment to enhancing the investment and diversify business growth in Brunei, she has played a pivotal role in drafting key mining guidelines and orders that shape the country’s mining sector.

Throughout her career, Dr. Hajah Sarimah has been instrumental in facilitating investments within the Brunei Government, leveraging her expertise to attract and support both local and international investors. Her diverse skill set spans regulatory frameworks, policy development, and stakeholder engagement, making her a vital asset in promoting Brunei as a favorable investment destination. Her experts more on policy and enriching her knowledge and expertise in the fields of governance and investment. Her academic pursuits complement her practical experience, allowing her to approach challenges with a comprehensive understanding of both theory and practice. Mixing local and international academic background, got her BA in Public Policy and Administration in Universiti Brunei Darussalam, whereas her Master of Science in Organisational Change and Development from the University of Manchester, United Kindgom and Phd in Management from the Universiti Tun Abdul Razak, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In addition to her professional responsibilities, Dr. Hajah Sarimah is passionate about mentoring emerging leaders in the investment sector and actively participates in initiatives aimed at enhancing economic development in Brunei.
