Counsellor Aisha AL Tobi is currently serving as the Head of the Sultanate of Oman Mission in Australia since December 2023, she is leading the establishment of the first Omani Embassy in Australia and Oman’s first SMART Embassy.
In a parallel role, Counsellor Aisha is the Head of the Initiatives & Performance Continuous Improvement Office in the Foreign Minister’s Office since November 2020. She played a crucial role in founding and establishing the first office for organizational excellence in the Omani government, organizing international programs that have trained diplomats globally, and driving initiatives that resulted in significant cost savings and cross-ministries collaboration.
From 2015 onwards, She has also been a trailblazer in the field of science diplomacy. Being the first Arab female Science & Technology Diplomat, she has significantly contributed to establishing the Office for Science, Knowledge, and Technology Transfer in Oman Foreign Ministry, made Oman at that time the first Arab country to practice Science & Technology Diplomacy, forging international agreements, and representing Oman in high-level global forums.
Previously, Counsellor Aisha held the role of Head of Studies and Translation Office in the Foreign Minister’s Office, where she also significantly contributed to the establishment of the Division of Media Affairs and was instrumental in developing media strategies and preparing critical political and security reports to the Foreign Minister.
Before joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, She was also appointed as the youngest Omani lecturer and also served as the Acting Head of Business Development and a Head of Marketing and Public Relations, where she designed special programs and initiatives in public and private sectors in Venture Capitals.
Academically, Counsellor Aisha holds an M.A. in International Relations, Security and Strategic Studies from the University of Reading, UK, and a Bachelor of Arts in English Language from the University of Bedfordshire, UK. She is also recognized for her academic acknowledgments in Oman’s political history in several international security defense journals besides her active participation in media activities, including music, voice-over and events and panels moderation.
An accomplished equestrian who has won several awards and an aviation enthusiast. Aisha is also fluent in multiple languages and has a deep passion for business, technology, sports, music, arts, and travel.
