Kathryn’s career has spanned over 22 years in diverse industries, predominantly mining. In her 17 years at BHP she has held corporate and site environmental and climate change roles in the Nickel, Iron Ore, Group HSE, Technology and External Affairs divisions.
Kathryn is the Manager Sustainability & Social Value Improvement & Assurance. She leads a global team which designs and implements improvement and assurance projects across BHP related to sustainability, social value, environment and climate change. Her decarbonisation experience at BHP has included developing and deploying technology solutions that drive greenhouse gas emission reductions across BHP’s global operations. Kathryn is based in Perth and holds a double degree in Environmental Engineering and Chemistry from the University of Western Australia. She is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
She is the President of the “BHP Gender Equity Network” committee, leading a group of volunteers from across BHP Perth functions and business units, which provides career development and networking opportunities to Perth-based BHP employees.
